Engineering Concepts For Youth kicked off with a simple, yet powerful idea, to build more engineers in the future. We noticed a gap in the educational resources available for parents who homeschool - especially in the critical fields of engineering. Since then, we’ve been on a mission to fill that gap. Our courses are crafted by experts, with the understanding of what hurdles to overcome in the current education climate. Who is Isaac, your instructor?
At Engineering Concepts For Youth, we’re more than just a team; we’re a family of passionate educators, engineers, and creators. Together, we’ve built a unique engineering curriculum. Isaac, your instructor, is an engineer by education and a military veteran. He served eight years in the military working in Explosive Ordinance Disposal. After his military service Isaac spent 6 years working as an engineer in both the military and civilian workforce. He’s designed buildings, multi-unit housing, restaurants, explosive test plans and more! Isaac is passionate about teaching and we hope that this course and his life preparation will truly benefit your life!

You Might Be Wondering
Does my child need to be a certain age to take this course?
We created this course to specifically target youth in grades 8-10 however as homeschooling parents we recognize that children and their readiness and capabilities widely vary! If your child is beginning to recognize algebraic concepts they are absolutely ready for this course. We’ve purposefully gone light on the math so that we can really soak in engineering ideas and come to develop a love for those concepts first. You may also find that some math concepts will come easier as well after applying some engineering concepts first! If your child doesn’t understand algebraic concepts yet this doesn’t necessarily preclude them from this course but it will help as lessons continue to build on each other and grow more complicated.
How do your courses cater to different learning styles?
From the beginning of the creation of our courses we have considered how to meet the different learning styles of the children that will be taking these courses. We provide video lessons to meet the audio-visual learners and our engineering kit is specifically designed to be hands on for kinesthetic learners. We’ve sought out some the very best presentation software to create lesson plans that will be fun to view and keep learners engaged.
Is the course self-paced?
Yes! As homeschooling parents we recognize that many students move at a different pace. This course is 16 weeks and the lessons are divided to be completed in a semester if that is what works best for the student. However, if you recognize that you may need more time to complete the course the class is set up for personalizing it for your student.
Do you update your curriculum to keep it engaging and current?
Absolutely! We are constantly improving our content and are always looking for ways to better serve the children we are educating. We have several more engineering courses in the works and as we discover better ways forward we work to update our classes to be more engaging, informative and beneficial. We continue to update previous material as well as add to our content.
What is the price and content of each kit?
Premier kit-$25.00
Our premier kit is the deluxe option for kits and includes everything that we would love each student to have! We have our professional tools included that are used by professional engineers as they work in their profession. Also included is our standard kit which includes lab tools for several lessons and all the hands on content to be able to successfully complete this engineering course.
Standard kit-$40.00
Our standard kit has all the components that students will need to complete the course including lab tools, laser cut pieces for truss and force lessons, and content for our lesson on designing a building.
Basic kit-$15.00
Our basic kit includes only the laser cut pieces and cable members for the truss lessons. All other components of our standard kit could be purchased online and we will include this list with the basic kit so that all the components can be purchased separately.
What is the cost?
The cost for our engineering course is divided into two membership tiers. Our premier membership tier is an annual cost of $275.00. We created a kit to go with our course and the premier kit is included free with the annual pricing membership.Our second tier is the standard membership at a cost of $25.00 a month. We offer 3 kit options with this membership sold seperately, Premier, Standard and Basic. All standard memberships will receive free digital access to our kit content files and a comprehensive list of what is included in the kit if you would like to purchase it separately. Full Width
